Wole Odegbami is a former Nigerian footballer and coach, born on August 27, 1952, in Lagos, Nigeria. He was known as "Mathematical" during his playing career due to his impressive mathematical skills.
Odegbami played for the Nigerian national team from 1976 to 1982, scoring 23 goals in 46 appearances. He was part of the team that won the 1980 African Cup of Nations and also played in the 1980 and 1982 FIFA World Cup.
After retiring from playing, Odegbami became a coach and served as the technical director of the Shooting Stars FC from 1993 to 1994. He also worked as the coach of the Nigerian national team, leading them to the final of the 1984 African Cup of Nations.
In addition to his football career, Odegbami is a successful businessman and philanthropist. He is the founder of the Best Way Group of Companies, a conglomerate that operates in various sectors, including telecommunications, hospitality, and real estate. He is also the founder of the Wole Odegbami Foundation, which promotes education and entrepreneurship among young Nigerians.
